Oh Hello, I'm Liesh
Photographer, wife, mum of four and the girl behind Petal & Prairie Photography.
Life for me is a little bit of organised chaos. We're raising our family on acreage literally just outside Moree surrounded by kids, horses, animals and usually more than a few projects I've decided we absolutely need to start.
Motherhood has shaped so much of the way I see life and the way I photograph it. I've watched tiny hands grow bigger, babies become kids, kids become teenagers and ordinary days turn into memories far quicker than I ever expected.
It's why I'm not chasing perfectly posed photographs. I want the belly laughs, little hands reaching for yours, windswept hair, cuddles, chaos and all the pieces of your family that feel completely ordinary right now but won't always be.
Because one day, it's the ordinary you'll miss.
So.. Why petal & Prairie?
Petal & Prairie came from two things I've always loved, wildflowers and wide open spaces.
Petal for the wildflowers and little details I'm always drawn to and Prairie for the open paddocks, country landscapes and rural life that feels like home.
Together, it just felt right.
A little soft, a little country and a pretty perfect reflection of the stories I love to photograph.
Come as you are..
Your kids don't need to sit still. Your partner doesn't need to love having their photo taken. And you definitely don't need to know what to do in front of my camera.
I'll guide you when you need it but mostly I'll give you space to just be together. Play, cuddle, chase the kids, laugh, wander, whatever feels like you.
No pressure to perform. No need for perfect. Just come as you are.

MUM OF FOUR
My greatest loves, my biggest chaos and probably the reason I'm so unfazed by whatever your kids decide to throw at me during a session.
Trust me, mine are WILD.
COUNTRY LIFE
We live on acreage LITERALLY just outside Moree with horses, sheep, dogs and an ever-growing collection of animals.
There's usually dirt somewhere it shouldn't be.
ALWAYS ANOTHER PROJECT
I have a habit of deciding we absolutely need to build, renovate, garden or create something. My husband has learnt that “I've got an idea” usually means work for him too.
HORSE GIRL, ALWAYS
I've loved and ridden horses my whole life, all thanks to my Pop who introduced me to them when I was little. Now it's come completely full circle watching my daughters ride, with the same Pop there helping them and watching them grow up around horses too.
I don't think that will ever stop feeling special.
A SENTIMENTAL SOFTIE
I'm a sucker for the things that hold a memory… Photographs, keepsakes and all those little pieces of life that probably mean far more to me than they should.
SUNSET CHASER
I'll never get sick of a good country sunset. If the sky starts doing something pretty, there's a very good chance I'll stop whatever I'm doing to look at it or photograph it.
HOME IS MY HAPPY PLACE
Give me home, my family, our animals and a day spent pottering around the property and I'm pretty content.
I'm definitely happiest in my own little patch of the world.
